SOLIDARITY & INTEGRATION THROUGH VOLUNTEERING
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Our volunteering scheme is created to encourage integration and social cohesion among local and people from migrant background living in Greater Manchester and raise awareness about the benefits of volunteering and peer support, encouraging adults from diverse migrant background to engage with local community activities.
We offer different opportunities within our organisation and working in partnership with other local organisations such as Home of Justice and Community Revival.
Our volunteers are able to receive training, gain work experience and make new friends.
OUR FUNDERS
Thanks to Awards For All – Big Lottery’ and Allan Lane Foundation financial support, MS started The Volunteer Scheme pilot project in 2016 to develop the charity’s volunteering capacity and raise awareness about the benefits of volunteering and peer support, encouraging adults from migrant background who are settled in Greater Manchester to get involved with volunteering opportunities available not only within our own organisation but also in other grass-root organisations and local communities.
